About Taking Time
For Those Who Matter Most
© Lee Wise
Times change.
Demands increase.
Seasons of life fade from one into the other.
And the times of our lives advance right on schedule.
However, they don’t always advance according the time frames we choose or the personal agendas we painstakingly attempt to put into place.
However, they don’t always advance according the time frames we choose or the personal agendas we painstakingly attempt to put into place.
The unchanging platform of seconds, minutes and hours upon which our lives are based do march on -- but often the drumbeat changes and we adjust our steps according to an ever altering array of...
Blessings,
Heartaches,
Victories,
Challenges,
And all you might think of in between.
And so it is in the lives of those who need us most.
Their drumbeats vacillate...
And so it is in the lives of those who need us most.
Their drumbeats vacillate...
- Between being beat up and being encouraged.
- Between correctly anticipating what the next day holds and just trying to hold on to the next day because of what the previous day did hold.
- And either living life to the full or life being so full that it can hardly be lived in the true sense of the word.
And because of this, you will not find housed in this brief article a carefully chosen word collage entitled “the ten steps you need to take in order to make time for those you love.”
No, that read you will not encounter. Not here. Not now.
Instead, I offer you a single two word reminder: “Time Enough.”
Imagine someone who rightfully owns the deed to your presence explaining what they mean by your “being there” for them with these words:
“How much is enough?”
“It’s enough when you show me that you value my season of life and whatever it means to me at the time.”
In other words, when those in my most precious circle of influence feel their value to me by my caring enough to show up in their world of existence, that communicates what the heart needs to hear.

On Spending Time
People know that they matter most
when the time that matters
is the time we spend with them.

With the above having been said and the “Ten Steps You Need To Take In Order To Make Time For Those You Love” having been laid aside, my ending consists of a very simple -- yet worlds away from being simplistic -- question:
“Are you taking time enough?”
